OpenStreetMap is a free map of the world that anyone can edit. Thousands of volunteers keep it up to date. Many of them map the streets where they live, so they know the local rules.
That local knowledge is why OpenStreetMap is good for finding free parking. Big commercial maps mostly know the paid car parks. Volunteers also add the small free spots that nobody else lists.

Is every spot really free?+
No. We show spots that are probably free, based on OpenStreetMap data. Rules change, so always read the signs when you arrive.
Why should I check Street View first?+
Because the signs on the street decide, not the map. In Street View you can look for parking signs, road markings, barriers and ticket machines before you drive there. Street View photos can be old too, so read the real signs when you arrive.
What should I check before I park?+
Read the parking signs and the time limits. Look for resident-only, permit-only, private or customer-only parking. Check if there is a ticket machine or a paid zone nearby. Street View lets you look first, but the signs on the street always win.
Where does the data come from?+
From OpenStreetMap, a free map that volunteers around the world keep up to date. We clean that data and show the spots that look free. Every pin shows when the data was last updated.
